9/6/2021:

After using the electronic scribing/scoring system at the Labor Day Dressage Classic show, we have decided to abandon the use of the system for the Championships. So, this clinic is canceled.

We are preparing for the upcoming GAIG/USDF Region 3 Championships where we will be using the new electronic scribing system! Join us!

In this clinic, you will learn how to use the FoxVillage paperless dressage (FVDPDS) system which will be used during the GAIG/USDF Region 3 Dressage Championship show October 8-10, 2021 at the Georgia Horse Park in Conyers.

Judges depend upon the scribe to quickly, accurately, legibly, and quietly record the scores and comments made about each ride.

Judges give scores from 1 to 10 (half points are also allowed) for a predetermined set of movements, which increase in difficulty as the horse and rider moves up the levels. The scribe writes/enters the judge's scores and comments on the score sheet/computer. The comments are meant to help the rider understand each of the individual scores.

Scribing is a great way to learn what the judges are looking for and, like other volunteer positions, it can be a great way to meet new friends and support the local dressage community.
