GDCTA is beginning a new award for schooling show junior riders in 2021!

The Rider Award is for GDCTA junior members showing in schooling shows in either dressage or eventing/CT on horses they do not own or lease. This award allows the lesson program riders to participate too!

This is a year-end award for USDF Intro & Training Level dressage and Amoeba & Tadpole eventing/CT.

Scores will be based on the official show results posted by each show. However, you must be a GDCTA member and have indicated that you wish to participate in the awards program AT THE TIME THE SCORES ARE EARNED. You may register your intent to participate by checking the appropriate box on the membership form when you join or by contacting the Membership Chairperson Mary Lou Freil. When you join for 2021, you will also have access to your membership information so you will be able to manage your award program participation yourself!

Full details are on the website. https://bit.ly/2qE1BiV

The Region 3 Championships are in Ocala this year (and in Conyers, next!) so if you are planning to go and need your scores, get your entries in for the LDC show! It's going to be a great show - this year and next - even with masks and social distancing this year. We'll see what next year has in store for us closer to that date. Congratulations to our competitors who have been following the USEF COVID requirements so we have been able to continue having shows.

We are still in need of a few volunteers for this show, particularly set up on Thursday, August 20. Contact me if you can help!

    Thank you!

PS GDCTA is still looking for a Volunteer Coordinator specifically for our shows. One of the best ways to feel good is by doing good. Give back to our horsey community and join us!

The 2019 Yearbook is coming! While the postal service is a bit slower than usual, you should still be receiving your yearbook soon. If you joined after July 15, contact me to purchase one.

The Summer Finals schooling show was hot-hot-hot but so much fun! The results are on the website.

Up next is our Labor Day Classic weekend at the Horse Park August 29 and 30th. This is a USEF/USDF dressage show. Entries are open on EqEntries.com now.

The annual Dressage4Kids & Atlanta Youth Festival is scheduled for September 4-6 at the Horse Park but we are experiencing COVID-related travel issuses for the officiants so the dates may change. The prize list is posted. Watch the website for updates. The Atlanta National Fall Dressage schooling show which was scheduled for October 10-11 at the Horse Park is canceled. The Laura Graves dressage clinic has been rescheduled for December 12-13 at Shannondale Farm in Milton. These events plus GDCTA-recognized schooling shows can be found on the website calendar.

Stay well and we will see you soon!
